Sunday Liturgy & Announcements for November 9

We post the liturgy from the week so it will be accessible to you throughout the week. We encourage you to work through the catechism or be reminded about what Scripture was read in the service on Lords Day.

Call To Worship

LEADER

Psalm 121:1 I lift up my eyes to the hills.

From where does my help come?

PEOPLE

2 My help comes from the LORD,

who made heaven and earth.

LEADER

3 He will not let your foot be moved;

he who keeps you will not slumber.

4 Behold, he who keeps Israel

will neither slumber nor sleep.

5 The LORD is your keeper;

the LORD is your shade on your right hand.

6 The sun shall not strike you by day,

nor the moon by night.

7 The LORD will keep you from all evil;

he will keep your life.

8 The LORD will keep

your going out and your coming in

from this time forth and forevermore.

Catechism

LEADER

What does every sin deserve?

PEOPLE

Every sin deserves God’s wrath and curse, both in this life and that which is to come

LEADER

What does God require of us that we may escape his wrath and curse, due to us for sin?

PEOPLE

To escape the wrath and curse of God due to us for sin, God requires of us faith in Jesus Christ, repentance unto life, with the diligent use of all the outward means whereby Christ communicates to us the benefits of redemption

LEADER

What is faith in Jesus Christ?

PEOPLE

Faith in Jesus Christ is a saving grace, whereby we receive and rest upon him alone for salvation, as he is offered to us in the gospel.

Confession

LEADER

Psalm 25:4 Make me to know your ways, O LORD;

teach me your paths.

5 Lead me in your truth and teach me,

for you are the God of my salvation;

for you I wait all the day long.

6 Remember your mercy, O LORD, and your steadfast love,

for they have been from of old.

7 Remember not the sins of my youth or my transgressions;

according to your steadfast love remember me,

for the sake of your goodness, O LORD!

Assurance

Psalm 32

LEADER

1 Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. 2 Blessed is the man against whom the LORD counts no iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit. 3 For when I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long. 4 For day and night your hand was heavy upon me; my strength was dried up as by the heat of summer.

PEOPLE

5 I acknowledged my sin to you, and I did not cover my iniquity; I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the LORD,” and you forgave the iniquity of my sin.
