Sunday Liturgy & Announcements for April 12

We post the liturgy from the week so it will be accessible to you throughout the week. We encourage you to work through the catechism or be reminded about what Scripture was read in the service on Lords Day.

Call To Worship

LEADER:

Psalm 63 1  O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you;

my soul thirsts for you;

my flesh faints for you,

as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.

PEOPLE:

2  So I have looked upon you in the sanctuary,

beholding your power and glory.

3  Because your steadfast love is better than life,

my lips will praise you.

4  So I will bless you as long as I live;

in your name I will lift up my hands.

The Holy Bible: English Standard Version (Wheaton, IL: Crossway Bibles, 2016), Ps 63:1–4.

Wherein did Christ's humiliation consist?

LEADER:

Wherein consisteth Christ's exaltation?

PEOPLE:

Christ's exaltation consisteth in his rising again from the dead on the thrid day, in ascending up into heaven, in sitting at the right hand of God the Father, and in coming to judge the world at the last day.

Confession

LEADER

Luke 24:44 Then he said to them, “These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.” 45 Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, 46 and said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and on the third day rise from the dead, 47 and that repentance for the forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem.

PEOPLE

To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood 6 and made us a kingdom, priests to his God and Father, to him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
